Social Medias such as TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat video content is and will continue to be successfull for businesses or creating trends. It is said in Sprout Social, that brands "invest more in video production equipment and staff" to get appropiate attention of their targetted audience. On another hand, I think BeReal will not last longer if nothing new is implemented into the app since BeReal is for keeping people updated of what you are doing at one certain moment of the day which means low engagement in the app. Nowadays, every viral trend is monetized because they are moestly marketing trends because of this I think that, in the future, social media will be 90% for selling and advertising brand deals. With this, I don't mean people are not going to be able to post their life, but almost every post will sell something.
I have not adapted any trend mentioned in the readings, but I do have adapted to new apps. BeReal is the most recent application that I have been using because of the trend. From my experience, I think this app has quickly loose engagement with users causing people to delete the app in a short period of time. I, personally, enjoy this app since I get entretained by knowing what people are doing and where they are since my friends on the app are all friends that went to college to different countries and keeping in touch is hard. In the last few months, I have use ChatGPT several times in broad ways. This AI tool has been very helpful by helping me solve issues in an instance. I have asked ChatGPT to help me with other languages, to order ideas, to paraphrase, and to cite websites correctly. Going back to the fact that I haven't adapted to any trends, I feel like I have always gone the different direction on everything that trends because I don't find smart doing or following something just because everyone is doing it.
The Metaverse possesses both positive and negative traits. On one hand, it promises to fundamentally alter how we communicate and use technology. Immersive experiences, improved social connectivity, and new business prospects are benefits that I found likeable. Yet, the Metaverse also brings up issues with inequality, security, and privacy. It is evident that the general public, including me, are quite concerned over this issue. The establishment of a virtual environment necessitates the gathering and storage of enormous amounts of user data, including personal information, biometric data, and behavioral data, which poses various privacy issues related to the Metaverse. I know people that have had issues since it comes with the potential for data breaches, hacking, and unauthorized access to personal data. Additionally, because it may not be evident who has access to user data and how it is being utilized, the Metaverse raises concerns regarding ownership and control of such data. This raises questions about the possibility of user behavior being monitored and tracked as well as the usage of user data for commercial advantage. These privacy issues will need to be resolved as the Metaverse spreads in order to guarantee that user data is safeguarded and that users have control over their personal information to reduce the negative qualities om such an important company as Metaverse is. Personally, I own the apps of Facebook, Instagra, WhatsApp, and Messenger (almost all Meta applications) which is a high risk because of the privacy issues, but owning and using all this apps means that I rely so much on them that I am willing to risk my privacy which shows that I enjoy and like a lot of beneficial qualities Meta offers.
