Public Relations on Social Media: LJ7

According to Lipschultz's "Social Media Communication," Chapter 4, social media has evolved into a vital instrument for public relations specialists to interact with their consumers, forge connections, and raise brand awareness. It has made it possible for PR professionals to communicate with stakeholders in both directions and reach a larger audience. Since I am quite private on social media, as I have already stated, I personally do not utilize social media to develop public relations. But if I ever needed to build professional relationships, social networking sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram would be my first port of call.      Knowing how social media affects public relations has had a big impact on everyone's personal and professional use of social media, but influencers especially. Unexpectedly, I have a number of friends that leverage social media to enhance their reputations and personal brands. As a result, their businesses have si...

Social Media Ethics and Manipulation: LJ 6

PART 1.  Social Media Laws and Ethics The information presented this week is a thorough and useful tool for comprehending the moral and legal ramifications of using social media. It covers a wide range of subjects, including online reputation management, intellectual property, cyberbullying, and privacy regulations.       If I'm being honest, I was previously aware of a lot of this information, so it hasn't really influenced me that much. Nevertheless, knowing this knowledge might have a huge impact on how someone uses social media and the internet for personal purposes. As a result, I have cut back on the amount of content I post on social media platforms like Snapchat and Instagram. It has helped me comprehend the potential repercussions of my actions, such as disclosing private information or engaging in online harassment.  I used to have a private story on Snapchat and nowadays I don’t have one nor do I post stories or send too many snaps. Regardin...

Real or Fake? : LJ5

It is obvious from reading the previous readings that photos are very important in social media. Pictures can be used to document and convey feelings, share intimate moments, and convey information. Images on social media sites get higher attention than text posts, claim Li and Xie (2019). The ramifications of sharing images on social media must therefore be taken into account, including copyright issues (Bosher & Yeşilolu, 2018), the effects of images on body image (Pedersen, 2023), and the impact of images on the dissemination of false information (Debunked: Five false photos and videos that (mis)shaped 2021, 2021). In one of my previous blogs, I wrote that "Social media has, in my opinion, turned toxic. I recall when I first started publishing things online, I was twelve years old. Everyone shared their experiences in a really honest and natural way, and they didn't give any thought to how they looked. In today's world of beauty standards where everyone tries to con...

Social Media through Time: LJ4

Social Medias such as TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat video content is and will continue to be successfull for businesses or creating trends. It is said in Sprout Social, that brands "invest more in video production equipment and staff" to get appropiate attention of their targetted audience. On another hand, I think BeReal will not last longer if nothing new is implemented into the app since BeReal is for keeping people updated of what you are doing at one certain moment of the day which means low engagement in the app. Nowadays, every viral trend is monetized because they are moestly marketing trends because of this I think that, in the future,  social media will be 90% for selling and advertising brand deals. With this, I don't mean people are not going to be able to post their life, but almost every post will sell something.      I have not adapted any trend mentioned in the readings, but I do have adapted to new apps. BeReal is the most recent app...

TIME DIARY ON INSTAGRAM   For the last four days, I have used Instagram on my iPhone each day for about the same amount of time (one hour).  These are pictures of my Screen Time  during the last four days:  Figure 1. Saturday's screen time on Instagram. Figure 2. Sunday's screen time on Instagram. Figure 3. Monday's screen time on Instagram.   Figure 4. Tuesday's screen time on Instagram.  When I use this social media tool, I normally am on my phone. On rare occasions, I use Instagram on my computer or iPad. It could be about two times in a month that I use either of these platforms to interact with others on Instagram.  Normally, I use this app during the day. I check my messages mostly in the morning while I have breakfast.  When I interact on Instagram it is specifically only with my friends. A majority of the time the conversations are on group chats. If I talk with an individual person is because one of us made a reply to the other's story....

I consider social Networking is modern-day connections and friendships, the way we use social media to connect with others regarding job or social purposes.  Social networking is my major method of communication with coworkers and acquaintances I don't see very often. Consider Instagram. This social network platform is what I'd call my favorite. It is so informal yet professional for work. Instagram is used by many businesses to sell their goods and services. I also use Twitter, Pinterest, and Snapchat, which lets everyone communicate with people by sending them photographs. I use Pinterest to get project ideas and as a starting point for any unfinished thoughts. Since I believe you should set aside a significant amount of time to concentrate on your personal accomplishments outside of social media, I try not to live by these social networking platforms. I set a time limit on my phone so that I can't spend more than three hours a day using it. Social networking, in my opi...
